Uttar Pradesh to build four new smart cities

In order to decongest overpopulated cities, the Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop four smart cities along India's longest access-controlled expressway, which will be completed in three years.

The Ganga Expressway Industrial Authority has identified that these would be located at Agra, Firozabad, between Kannauj and Kanpur and between Kanpur and Lucknow.

The expressway, which will pass through Agra to Lucknow, will reduce overall travel time from eight hours to 3½ hours.
