Video: Female driver drags police officer for 1km during routine check

A female driver in Lichuan, China, sped into deep trouble on Tuesday, when she drove off during a routine traffic police check - and dragged the officer along with her.

Video footage from a dashboard camera shows a uniformed officer struggling to free his hand, which was caught on the door of a three-wheel car.

The car continued to weave in and out of traffic on a narrow road despite the officer's desperate pleas.

China media reported that the officer had been doing a routine check on the road when he encountered the female driver of an orange three-wheel car.

The officer had just asked for the woman's driving documents when she decided to speed off.

"Please stop the car immediately, my hand is stuck," he was heard pleading.

Despite this, the driver sped on and dragged the officer along with her for about 1km.

A few moments later, the quick-thinking driver of another car behind the three-wheeler sped up and swerved in front of the vehicle, successfully stopping it from moving forward.

The officer escaped with multiple abrasions and is being treated in hospital, Chinese media reported.
