“The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan made her highly anticipated promotional debut at ONE: WARRIORS OF THE WORLD on Saturday, 9 December, and she did not disappoint.

The Beijing, China native displayed her striking skills against Filipino wushu champion April Osenio, and in front of a capacity crowd at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, she scored a decisive first-round TKO victory.

After a touch of gloves, both women warriors come out swinging with bad intentions.

Each and every time Xiong landed multiple punches, Osenio closed the distance and pulled her in to the clinch. Following an exchange of close-range attacks against the cage, the bout made its way to the canvas, with “The Panda” in a dominant top position.

Xiong, a former boxer who is also a China open BJJ Champion, made great use of her submission skills by very slickly transitioning from side control into what looked like a tight guillotine choke. The valiant Osenio, however, was able to get out of it.

Upon returning to their feet, Xiong swarmed the Team Lakay competitor with punches in bunches, and dropped her with a giant right hand, which forced referee Yuji Shimada to call a stop to the contest at 3:44 of the first round.

The Chinese athlete performed as advertised, improving her record to 13-1 and makes a deafening statement to the other female athletes in ONE Championship.
