A ceremony to mark International Yoga Day was held at the People's Square in Yangon at 6am.
About 100 enthusiasts and 10 organisations took part.
"In Yangon, there are three free yoga classes every morning, at Kandawgyi, Mahabandula Park in front of Yangon City Hall and the People's Square from 5:30am. Yoga is not only exercise but balances body and mind. It can improve health," said Khin Maung Shwe, a yoga trainer.
One yoga student said: "The daily practice of yoga improves health. I practise regularly and it was wonderful to do it with everyone else for the event."
