SINGAPORE - Not only has manufacturing output grown 3.1 per cent last month from the preceding year, it was also 1.9 per cent higher from October to November, the Economic Development Board said on Wednesday.
This was in large due to the typically unstable biomedical sector. On a year-on-year basis, the output of the biomedical manufacturing cluster expanded 12.9 per cent. On a three-month moving average basis, the manufacturing output contracted 2.1 per cent compared to a year ago.
Excluding the biomedical manufacturing industry, industrial production grew only 0.9 per cent year-on-year, and 0.6 per cent month-on-month.
