Like many houses at Sentosa Cove, this residence - designed by architect Greg Shand for homeowners Jenny and Siaw - boasts expansive views of nature through floor-to-ceiling glass panels. The couple also have interior designer Angie Chan of Index Design to thank for bringing their vision of a modern "beach home" to life.
Jenny wanted the interiors to match the surroundings by using natural materials. Angie controlled the use so the place would not end up looking like a kampung house.
The result is a balance of natural materials such as metal, stone and wood, which imbue the spaces with a contemporary vibe that's also welcoming and comfortable enough for family life.
The living room enjoys a "borrowed" view beyond the boundaries of the home.
The view from the side of the home shows the outdoor dining area on the first level and the study room on the second.
Topped with a magnificent four-metre-long cross section of a suar tree, the dining table adds a lovely warmth and texture to the space.
Golden sunlight and warm wood tones liven up the minimalist aesthetics of this "beach home".
Desk lamps from Artemide flank the customised bed in the master bedroom. The design was inspired by a cosmetic tycoon's luxurious beach home.
