900 flats launched, new scheme extended to first-timer couples without children

SINGAPORE - The Housing Board launched 900 flats under the Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme (PPHS) on Monday. In addition, the scheme has been extended to first-timer married couples without children.

However, families with a citizen child under the age of 16 will enjoy priority allocation.

The PPHS flats are primarily vacated Selective En-bloc Redevelopment Scheme(SERS) flats that are not immediately needed for redevelopment.

HDB is carrying out retrofitting works in these flats and they will be ready for occupation from mid-2013.

Here is the press release from HDB:

HDB launched 900 flats for application under the Parenthood Provisional Housing Scheme (PPHS) today.

All first-timer married couples who are waiting for the completion of their new HDB flats can apply for these flats.

The scheme has been extended to include those without children.

Families with a citizen child below the age of 16 will however enjoy priority allocation.
