Australia air cargo cartel class action settled for $44.4 mln - law firm

MELBOURNE - An Australian class action against an air cargo cartel has been settled for A$38 million (S$44 million), the law firm representing the purchasers of international air freight services who sued said on Friday.

The class action, launched in 2007 by importers and exporters of products to and from Australia, alleged that airlines colluded to fix fuel and security surcharges on international airfreight services, the law firm, Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, said.
