PUTRAJAYA - A construction and property development company director, sought by the special task force investigating 1MDB funds, has been remanded for four days by a Putrajaya magistrate's court.
It is believed that the 39-year-old director was arrested on Monday at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport by the 1MDB task force. He was produced before a magistrate Tuesday.
The director's lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said his client has been remanded for four days over "national interest."
"They asked for seven days but the magistrate allowed for four days only," he added.
It is believed the task force had sought the director to assist in its investigations.
