SINGAPORE - A Buddhist monastery near Bishan Park is, for the first time, having a lantern display as part of Vesak Day celebrations. Six lanterns will be used to showcase the theme of the celebrations - Gratitude Brightens Lives.
The event is organised by the Singapore Buddhist Federation and the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. Minister for National Development Khaw Boon Wan will be the guest of honour at the light-up ceremony on Saturday. Vesak Day falls on May 13.
