Carrying the theme "KISAH", ICAD 2018 presents works that are more personal, in the form of thoughts or track records of the experience of artists and designers in their work processes. "Art works present as a way of expressing a thought, event, fluctuation or emotional interaction between artists and their work, which is built into a 'new reality' that is relevant in the present and future contexts," said Harry Purwanto, Art Director & Curator of ICAD 2018.

BEKRAF Deputy Chairman for Marketing, Joshua Simandjuntak, added that the consistency of ICAD which had been held for almost a decade has attracted the interest of global contemporary art lovers. "We will continue to support events or events that help creative players to meet their markets. Creative actors to get involved in this event. Further encouraging the ICAD to become an international event," Joshua emphasized.

This year, ICAD again collaborates with artists and creators from various disciplines. It presents the work of 50 creative actors, including Irawan Karseno (painter), Ruby Roesly (architect), Tatang Ramadhan (graphic designer), Joshua Simandjuntak (product designer), White Shoes and The Couples Company (musicians), Milisifilem Collective (collective artists / filmmakers), PM Toh (poet), Hikmat Darmawan (comic artist), and many more. Acting as curators at the 2018 ICAD are Hafiz Rancajale and Harry Purwanto. In addition to the nation's work, ICAD this year also featured works by designers from Belgium, Joris Vanbriel and Vanessa Yuan (ecoBirdy). EcoBirdy's works always utilize recycled materials and put forward ideas to contribute to the environment and education.

ICAD 2018 will also feature a contemporary performance, 'The Story of Batik' by designer Amanda Hartanto who collaborates with PM Toh.

In addition to displaying artwork, ICAD 2018 also presents several creative figures who will share insights in 3 separate conventions. Film workshop, presenting 2 film producers as speakers; Jon Kuyper (Production Executive of The Hunger Games) and Mira Lesmana. This workshop is in collaboration with MPA and APROFI. About grandkemang Hotel Jakarta

With great pride, Grandkemang Hotel Jakarta has again been appointed to host ICAD since 2009, which marks the 9th year of grandkemang Hotel Jakarta as the official ICAD venue. The hotel has a modern and trendy concept that has always been the choice of a gathering place not only for artists but also fashion and socialite designers, because of its strategic location in Kemang, South Jakarta, so it is suitable to host prestigious events such as ICAD. This year the theme of ICAD is "STORY" which matches the grandkemang story of the Jakarta Hotel itself which was established in 1974, and with some highly dedicated employees still working in this hotel for more than 30 years. Not to forget the culinary offerings favored by guests from the past until now are Fried Rice, Oxtail Soup and Fried Banana. All of these stories are nostalgic moments that will be presented by grandkemang Hotel Jakarta during the ICAD.
