Johor Sultan Ibrahim buys 63 million shares in 7-Eleven Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar has raised his shareholding in 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd when he purchased 63.08 million shares.

A filing with Bursa Malaysia showed that after the purchase of the 5.1 per cent stake, his shareholding in the covenience store owner and operator increased to 15.52 per cent or 172.37 million shares.

Earlier, in the day, StarBiz reported that the 63.08 million shares were traded in an off-market deal at an average price of RM1.45 for a total of RM91.46mil.

The share price closed up one sen to RM1.56.

Berjaya Group founder Tan Sri Vincent Tan is the largest shareholder with a 41.73 per cent stake or 463.35 million shares of 7-Eleven.
