Lee Yi Shyan joins OUE Hospitality Trust's managers

Former Senior Minister of State Lee Yi Shyan has joined the companies that manage OUE Hospitality Trust.

Mr Lee was appointed deputy chairman and a non-independent, non-executive director of OUE Hospitality Reit Management and OUE Hospitality Trust Management with effect from yesterday. He was also appointed executive adviser to OUE executive chairman Stephen Riady on Jan 1, according to a Singapore Exchange filing.

OUE Hospitality Trust is a "stapled group" comprising OUE Hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust and OUE Hospitality Business Trust. A stapled security is an arrangement under which different securities are quoted jointly.''

Mr Lee, 53, is an MP for East Coast GRC. The former Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development stepped down from his ministerial posts last October after suffering from a mini stroke in May last year.

Before entering politics in 2006, Mr Lee was the chief executive of IE Singapore. He started his career at the Ministry of Defence as a systems engineer in 1987.

He joined the Economic Development Board (EDB) in 1991, where he held senior positions. After EDB, he was the deputy chief executive of the Singapore Productivity and Standards Board, before joining International Enterprise Singapore a year later in 2001.
