Malaysian developer Mah Sing named best employer in Asia

PETALING JAYA: Mah Sing Group Bhd has been named one of HR Asia magazine's "Best Companies To Work For In Asia 2013".

The award, which recognises top employers across 20 different industries, saw more than 140 companies participating this year, with 21 winners including Mah Sing, CIMB, Air Asia and McDonalds.

"Mah Sing has grown by leaps and bounds over the years. We realise that fundamentally, funds can be tapped, but human capital must be built," Mah Sing group managing director Tan Sri Leong Hoy Kum said in a statement.

"We know that it is our human capital that will drive the business, and more specifically, our bottom lines. Tying Mah Sing's diverse talentpool into a cohesive, effective and efficient force is a simple 'One Team One Vision' which we constantly communicate to our staff.

"We encourage openness and transparency, and generously reward innovations, and we are indeed gratified to receive this regional award that recognises the effort that we have put in to make Mah Sing a preferred employer, an employer of choice."

Mah Sing, the country's second largest developer by sales, employs close to 600 people in its property division.

The firm currently has landed and high rise residential, commercial and industrial projects with gross development value and unbilled sales of close to RM28bil (S$11.15) across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, Penang island, Johor Bharu and Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
