Employers who deny workers newly-introduced parental-leave benefits, such as paternity leave and shared parental leave, will be fined up to $5,000, jailed up to six months, or both, said Acting Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing.

Mr Chan said the fully government-paid leave schemes apply to parents who have worked with their employers for at least three months.
