Seeing Machines to showcase Driver Monitoring System at Automotive World 2019

TOKYO, Jan. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Seeing Machines Limited, the advanced computer vision technology company that designs AI-powered operator monitoring systems to improve transport safety will be exhibiting its driver monitoring technology at Automotive World in Tokyo, the world's largest exhibition for advanced automotive technologies.

Situated on NEXTY's booth (#E43-38), Seeing Machines will demonstrate its' Guardian Backup-driver Monitoring System (Guardian BdMS).

Automated driving will make driving easier, more comfortable, and eventually, safer. Entrusting the driving task to a computer will become a reality, but the journey will be gradual, complex, and potentially dangerous. As automated driving technology is tested and refined, it is prudent to have a human backup-driver continue to oversee the automated driving system to help assure safe operation of the vehicle at all times.

Seeing Machines has launched Guardian BdMS, designed specifically for autonomous driving research fleet owners and operators to provide a safety system that supports safe innovation and on-road testing of automated driving technology, helping to ensure the backup driver is ready to take control of the vehicle when automated driving is not possible.

The Guardian BdMS, currently being piloted in several companies in North America, leverages Seeing Machines' automotive-grade FOVIO driver monitoring technology in a convenient retrofit system for SAE level 3 to 5 test vehicle fleets.

Visit Seeing Machines on the NEXTY booth (#E43-38) at Automotive World in Tokyo from 16 through 18 January 2019.
