Singapore March exports seen down amid China slowdown

SINGAPORE - Singapore's non-oil domestic exports are expected to have fallen in March, a Reuters poll showed on Tuesday, amid a sluggish Chinese economy and slower growth in the city-state's manufacturing activity.

Non-oil domestic exports probably fell 0.8 percent in March from a year earlier, according to the median forecast in the survey of 12 economists.

On a month-on-month, seasonally adjusted basis, non-oil domestic exports are forecast to have declined 1.6 percent.

The data is due out on Thursday at 0030 GMT.

In February, non-oil domestic exports rose 9.1 percent from a year earlier, beating market expectations, on a jump in shipments of petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.

Growth in Singapore's manufacturing activity slowed in March from February's four-month high as there were fewer new orders, a survey showed earlier this month.
