Thai Royalty to Preside Over First Thai Night at the Hong Kong Filmart 2018

BANGKOK, March 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- For its first-ever installment at the Hong Kong Filmart, Thai Night -- Thailand Where Films Come Alive will be presided by Her Royal Highness Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi. Also in attendance will be Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, Thailand's Minister of Commerce.

Held tonight at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce, the event aims at fostering new ties between the Thai, mainland Chinese and Hong Kong film industries, and promote Thai cinema and the Thai film services abroad. 

For its first edition, the theme of Thai Night Hong Kong 2018 will be 'The Art of Action', putting the spotlight on action films -- a genre that is associated with both Thai and Hong Kong cinemas.

The event will be attended by 23 Thai film and television companies, representing the full spectrum of Thailand's content industry, from production and distribution, to production services, to post-production, CGI and animation. The participants include: Sahamongkolfilm International, GDH 559, M Pictures, Right Beyond, Studio Aromdi, Hollywood (Thailand), Pyramid & L.H., Benetone Films, Film Frame Productions, Kantana Post Production, The Studio Park, Xhabition, Yggdrazil Group, Studio28, G2D, The Monk Studios, Ltd. Workpoint Entertainment, BEC World, Halo Production, TV Burabha, Documania, Wishtrend Thailand, Wandee Media Co., Ltd.

The Thai participating companies will showcase their latest productions, TV formats and film services.

In addition, an industry panel will discuss opportunities for cooperation between the Thai, mainland Chinese and Hong Kong film industries, as well as how Thai film services companies can assist mainland Chinese and Hong Kong productions.

The evening's entertainment, a mix of Muay Thai and contemporary Thai choreography, will be performed by artists from "To Be Number 1", a project founded by Her Royal Highness.
