Top 10 overused buzzwords in Singaporeans' resumes

SINGAPORE - Professional network LinkedIn has released the most overused words and phrases in members' LinkedIn profiles for 2012.

The No. 1 most overused buzzword in LinkedIn Profiles globally, as well as for professionals based in Singapore is "creative."

"Track record" was the top overused buzzword for professionals in Singapore in the 2011 rankings. In LinkedIn's 2010 study, buzzwords like "extensive experience," "dynamic", "motivated", and "innovative" were among the most overused buzzwords in various countries.

The 2012 No. 1 buzzwords for countries in which LinkedIn fielded this study are:

- Creative: Australia, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, Sweden, United States

- Experimental: Brazil Multinational: Egypt, Indonesia Responsible: France, Italy

- Effective: India

- Motivated: Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom

- Specialised: Spain

- Analytical: Switzerland
