Want to retain workers? Train them

SINGAPORE - Employers who invest in training and staff development have a better chance of retaining their workers, going by findings released yesterday from a Kelly Services study that polled nearly 3,000 people here.

It found that 71 per cent of people here said their main impetus to get training is for a shot at a promotion with their current employer, rather than leaving to work with a different firm or start their own business.
