Why queue up when you can go to the bank on your mobile phone?

Why queue up when you can go to the bank on your mobile phone?

Reading the latest news, catching up with friends, shopping for trendiest outfits - tech-savvy Singaporeans can perform all these tasks easily on their mobile devices.

Instead of waiting for their turn in the snaking queues at the banks, most people now turn to their tablets and smartphones to handle the bulk of their daily banking transactions.

With mobile banking apps installed on their smartphones, they can pay their monthly bills, check account balances, or transfer funds anytime and anywhere, without worrying about the crowd or operating hours at the banks.

In the event where making a trip to the bank is inevitable, they can also make use of the apps to locate the nearest branch or check whether there is a queue there.

Singapore is transforming into a Smart Nation, and banks are taking part in the digital revolution by offering mobile banking apps that offer customers an enhanced banking experience, even meeting their needs in areas such as shopping, investment, and loans.

To reflect the changing consumer trends in Singapore, we have introduced the 'Best Mobile Banking Service' category to the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards this year.

In a call for entries held from October to November 2015, our readers nominated the five mobile banking apps they found most useful - Citibank SG, DBS mBanking, OCBS SG Mobile Banking, POSB mBanking, and UOB Mighty.

Which app gives you the best mobile banking experience? Have your say by casting your vote here.
