Chinese commuters team up to rescue woman from platform gap

An elderly woman was saved by fellow commuters at a train station in Guangzhou after she slipped and got her leg stuck in between the carriage and the platform.

A group of passengers teamed up to keep the train doors from closing on her and to push the train back to relieve the pressure on her leg, reports say.

Station staff also helped to grease her leg with lubricant to get it out of the gap.

Thanks to the Good Samaritans, the 72-year-old escaped with minor bruises on her knee in the incident on Saturday (May 6).
