Photos of Chinese students imitating world-famous paintings goes viral
A post on Sina Weibo of photos imitating world-famous paintings went viral recently, ThePaper.cn reported on Thursday.
The photos were posted online by Li Yong, a counselor at Nanjing Forestry University, who planned this activity. The people in the photos are from the College of Furnishings and Industrial Design, posing exactly as the figures in world-famous paintings.
"I didn't expect the students to be so talented," said Li. "They are like real drama queens and kings."
The activity lasted for one week, attracting nearly 60 students to participate and 20 photos were collected.
Sun Mengyao, a freshman, chose to imitate Message from the Sea created by John Everett Millais, as she thinks he is the most talented painter in the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.
Although the photos have received mixed reviews from netizens, Li thinks it is necessary to give young people some space to express themselves and show their talents.
