Watch how these train commuters work together to save trapped passenger

What would you do if you noticed a fellow train passenger had gotten caught between the train carriage and station platform?

For many commuters who were waiting for their ride at Beijing's Dongzhimen Station, they joined train station staff and police officers to help free the trapped passenger on Thursday evening (Aug 3).

In a video clip that went viral on Chinese social media website Weibo, they were seen pushing the train carriage and coordinating their actions by shouting "1,2,3."

When the trapped man was freed, they broke into applause.

After watching the video, numerous netizens commended the passengers for the timely rescue and said the kind act warmed their hearts.

However, this was not a mere accident.

CCTV footage released by Beijing Subway later that evening showed that the man had deliberately climbed over the platform screen doors just as the train was pulling into the station.

The train driver executed an emergency brake while train station staff, police officers, and passengers rushed to rescue the man.

After the man was freed, he was carried onto the platform and later taken to the hospital where he is now recovering from his injuries.

Train services resumed 20 minutes after the incident.

Kudos to these Good Samaritans for saving the man's life.
