WATCH: Railway worker saves suicidal woman from jumping in front of train

PUTIAN, China - A railway worker saved a young woman who attempted to commit suicide in Putian City, east China's Fujian Province on Wednesday.

Surveillance footage shows a young woman waiting at the platform.

She suddenly attempts to jump onto the railway tracks just as the train arrives.

A 54-year-old railway worker, Weng Jianzhong, caught her arm and pulled her back to the platform.

The woman in her twenties burst into tears after being pulled to safety.

She was taken to hospital and suffered no serious injuries.

According to railway regulations, Weng received 6,000 yuan (S$1,200) as a reward.
