Surveillance cameras captured the moment when a traffic police officer was hit head-on by a speeding vehicle at a checkpoint in central China on Thursday (July 27), state media reported.&nbsp;

State broadcaster CCTV showed surveillance footage of the officer being thrown several meters by the oncoming vehicle in Xiaogan city of Hubei province.&nbsp;

The checkpoint was performing random breathalyzer tests on drivers.&nbsp;

CCTV said the officer died from his injuries at a local hospital later that evening.&nbsp;

The suspect was caught on Friday (July 28) morning, CCTV said.&nbsp;

The case is still under investigation.
