1. Wear App Manager
If you are downloading loads of Android Wear apps, you will be busy creating folders to organise your finds. Or you can just buy Wear App Manager.
This app automatically organises all the Android Wear apps installed on your phone and lets you view the lot at a glance. Tap on an app to find out its functions.
You can open or uninstall an Android Wear app from here too. It also shows how much storage space is available on your smartwatch.
2. Wear Store for Android Wear
Some find it tedious hunting for the Android Wear apps they need. You can shorten your shopping spree by using the Wear Store app to do the curation for you.
It collects these apps and sorts them into categories, such as Entertainment, Education and Communication, to make them easier to find. This offers you the option to go to the App page or straight to Play Store when you tap on any app displayed. I prefer going straight to Play Store to view and install the app.
This is the first messaging app built from the ground up expressly for Android Wear. It lets you send and reply to text messages from your smartwatch without having to do a Dick Tracy and talk to your device.
It does this by allowing you to select certain built-in responses with a few swipes and taps. You can add customised responses to your smartwatch. This is handy when you are in a meeting, for example, and you would rather not pick up your phone to answer a message.
4. Wear Orbits - Android Wear
If your Android smartwatch has a display with a round face, this is a great game to play. The planets orbit in three concentric circles, clockwise and anticlockwise and at different speeds. The objective is to move your planet from one circle to another to prevent a collision.
You do this by tapping on the circles to keep your planet alive by changing its orbit to avoid colliding with other planets.
Sounds easy? You will find your planet crashing into another quite frequently. A great time-killer.
5. BiDot - Android Wear
This looks simple to play, but it is difficult to master. Even at the first level.
Blue and red dots bounce around in two spaces that are outlined in red and blue. Your job is to move a separator door from side to side to keep the blue dots from migrating to the red area, and the red dots from moving to the blue area.
If this sounds like child's play, just wait till you start playing.
6. WatchMaker Premium Watch Face
For users looking to create their own Android Wear watch faces, this is the app to get.
It offers intuitive tools that let you add hour/ minute hands, number markers; and date, weather and battery icons, to create your very own custom watch face.
Sizes and positions of icons can be easily adjusted.
Even if you have no programming knowledge at all, you can create a custom face in no time.
Feeling lazy? Download free user-created watch faces from websites such as www.facerepo.com and badapps.fr to this app.
7. Facer for Android Wear 5
Like the WatchMaker app, this one lets you create unique watch faces. But its tools are not as easy to use as those of WatchMaker Premium.
This app involves a lot of text input that looks like programming language.
If you can master this, it provides plenty of flexibility in terms of what you want your watch face to look like.
If not, downloading user-created watch faces from www.facerepo.com will be easier. And free.
8. Despicable Me
If you are a fan of the lovable Minions from the Despicable Me franchise, you must get this.
Created by the folks behind the Despicable Me films and the upcoming Minions movie, this watch face will display Minions such as Stuart, Kevin or Jerry, in different moods and animation.
Sometimes sad and sometimes happy, the Minions will mostly be up to their usual mischief, eating a paper cup or running around your watch.
9. V02 Pilot Chrono
Tony Stark would be proud of this awesome watch face, which seems to have come straight out of a sci-fi movie.
It has all sorts of indicators showing the month, day of the week, watch battery level, phone battery level, and also 60-second and 24-hour circular indicators.
Time/day/month/weather/ temperature indicators are big and easy to read. The watch face is available for both LG's G Watch R and Motorola's Moto 360.
10. Ustwo Smart Watch Faces
The developers of the award-winning mobile game Monument Valley designed the quartet of cool watch faces in this "face pack".
The Albumen watch face has an abstract calendar face that provides a constant 12-hour overview of your day. There is also the simple Episode watch face that tells you the current weather and offers a forecast.
There is another pack of 12 free watch faces from ustwo, but without the smart feature.
