After S6 slumber, Samsung offers concierge service to Singapore S7 customers

SINGAPORE - Samsung is firing on all cylinders with its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7, as the South Korean electronics maker looks to rebound from dismal sales of its Galaxy S6.

To entice its Singapore fan base and potential converts, Samsung today unveiled a local concierge programme at Vivocity for Galaxy S7 edge and S7 users.

Samsung claims that with $38, users will be able to enjoy a slew of services from its concierge service, such as a $350 discount on yearly smartphone upgrades of its Samsung Galaxy series.

The Wait Is Finally Over - Samsung Pay Is Coming To Singapore

This $350 discount arrangement applies to both contract users looking to upgrade their handsets with the telcos, and customers without contracts.

There is a caveat though, as the discount window starts from the 12th month of the purchase of the new Galaxy smartphone, and ends on the 17th month, Mr Eugene Goh, Samsung Electronics Singapore's Vice President of IT and Electronics revealed.

Other perks of this exclusive club include repair services at your doorstep from 10am to 8pm daily, subject to available time slots.

Besides 1-to-1 exchange for functional defects, discounts on cracks and liquid damages have been thrown to sweeten the deal, and retain customers within its ecosystem.

Samsung concierge was an original idea mooted in Singapore after polling its local customers and focus groups, a programme Mr Goh noted was conceptualised independently from its headquarters in South Korea.

This service will only be available for Galaxy S7 users from the first half of 2016, and not the older models.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will retail from March 12, and will be priced at $998 and $1,098 respectively in three colours: Black Onyx, Gold Platinum, Silver Titanium.
