Apple rubbishes claims that half of Apple Music users are no longer using free trial

Apple has just refuted claims of a recent survey conducted by MusicWatch that says that only around 52 per cent of Apple Music users who signed up for the free 3-month trial are still using the service.

The survey of 5000 consumers also found that 61 per cent of users have turned off the auto-renewal option for Apple Music as well.

Apple was obviously keen to refute this claim and said that 79 per cent of users who signed up for the free 3-month trial are still active users. However, it stopped short of offering further details and also did not clarify what exactly counts as an active user.

However, Apple did say in a recent New York Post report that over 79 per cent of people using the free-trial still use the app on a daily basis.

It was recently revealed that over 11 million users have signed up for Apple Music since its launch.
