SINGAPORE - Online retailer Lazada wants to convince shoppers that it is easy to shop online and via mobile devices. To do that, it is running an Effortless Shopping Sale to encourage shoppers "to leave the crowds behind".

The sale, running on Lazada.sg from today to Friday (June 26), is offering free shipping and next-day delivery across 13 product categories.

There will be exclusive daily deals on its mobile app, flash deals from 9am to midnight on Thursday, and a 20 per cent discount storewide for Maybank cardholders, said Lazada in a statement.

Lazada is offering tips to shoppers looking for tech products on the site:
- Compare prices across different sellers, as some may offer a bigger discount or bundle deal.
- Compare options and colours of various phone accessories and sort them by price.
- Stay updated on exclusive and limited edition tech launches and deals by subscribing to Lazada's newsletter, liking its Facebook page or checking out its What's New page regularly.

Lazada also wants you to know that the iPhone 6 Plus is going at 15 per cent off retail price during the sale. There's also a hefty 50 per cent discount on the Amazon Kindle Touch.

If you're one of those who have been reluctant to try online shopping because of concerns over the quality of products online (a Google study last year found that 45 per cent of non-online shoppers were concerned about product quality), Lazada will like to inform you that in a poll of close to 4,000 customers on its site, 85 per cent of respondents were satisfied with the quality of products offered.

"There is a clear disconnect between what offline shoppers perceive and what customers on Lazada Singapore experience. This highlights the need to dispel existing barriers to shopping online," Lazada CEO Martell Hardenberg said.
