SINGAPORE - While most of us were asleep last night, Google sneaked in their announcement on the Nexus 9, Nexus 6, and the Nexus Player.
The Nexus 9 is a tablet with a 8.9-inch screen, while the Nexus 6 is a smartphone with a 6-inch screen. Both devices are running the latest version of Google's Android operating system, Android 5.0, or "Lollipop".
The Nexus Player is an "all rounded" media player - it looks like a over-sized hockey puck. Cnet reports that the device is the first running the Android TV operating system. A gamepad for the Player will be sold separately so that users can play Android games on their TVs.
The Nexus 9 and the Nexus Player will be up for pre-order on Friday, while the Nexus 6 will be up for pre-order "in late October", Google announced on its website.
