Here are the worst passwords of 2017

SplashData has just published its annual list of worst passwords of the year and it seems that people just don't learn.

This list was made using data from five million passwords that were leaked by hackers this year.

Unsurprisingly, "123456" was number one, followed by "password" and "12345678".

Perennial favourite "letmein" is at number 7.

Credit must be given to the folks who went to all trouble to key in "123456789", which came in at number 6.

Some interesting entries include "1q2w3e", which came in at number 89. It might look random, but take a closer look at your keyboard.

Needless to say, all the passwords on this list are terrible passwords. And if you are using any of them, you owe it to yourself to change them.
