Mobile-device manufacturer Huawei has launched its first flagship store in Singapore.

The launch of the store at Plaza Singapura on Saturday, which was attended by 70 people, also saw the launch of Huawei's latest model, the Ascend Mate7.

The Ascend Mate7 boasts a six-inch screen with a full high-definition display for enhanced entertainment viewing, single-touch fingerprint technology and a fast octa-core chipset.

It has a compact 7.9mm-thick metallic body that has been designed with comfort and style in mind.

The model comes in three colours: obsidian black, moonlight silver and amber gold. The amber gold model will be available only at a later date.

"Today marks the arrival of our fastest and most compelling big-screen smartphone experience for consumers," said Low Han Thong, Huawei Singapore's head of device, in a statement.

"It is a symbol of our relentless commitment to 'Make it Possible' for people everywhere to enjoy our premium quality products."

The recommended retail price of the standard Huawei Ascend Mate7 (2GB RAM and 16GB ROM) is $749.

The price of the premium Huawei Ascend Mate7 (3GB RAM and 32GB ROM) is not available at the moment.
