Hyderabad police to acquire facial recognition software

THE Hyderabad police are planning to get facial recognition software, which will help to identify criminals by matching them with a data bank of photographs of known offenders.

Vendors dealing with facial recognition software have come forward and will be working on a pilot project for a month.

With closed-circuit television across the city, the police will be able to compare an offender's face caught on camera to existing information in the data bank and identify the person.
