iPhone 6 may debut on Sept 9: Leaked photo

The internet is abuzz with rumours about Apple's iPhone 6 - this time, with suggestions of a potential Sept 9 launch date, according to French website Nowhereelse.fr.

A leaked image shows the launch date on what appears to be the iPhone 6 quick start manual.

Referencing past instances where "manufacturers of electronic devices tend to display the launch date of their devices on multiple promotional illustrations," Nowhereelse.fr cited the iPhone 5s's publicity materials as an example why its latest iPhone 6 insert is real.

The iPhone 5S was launched on Sept 10, 2013, which tallies with the calendar date on its publicity materials.

However, Macrumors.com has refuted the claims by the French website, pointing out inconsistencies in the design elements of the iPhone 6 manual with previous versions.

Regardless of the launch date, it appears that Apple will launch two variants of the iPhone 6 - 4.7 inch (11.94 cm) and 5.5 inch (13.97 cm) screens - a larger-screen size trend that many phone manufacturers have adopted.
