M1's new pre-order system sees faster iPhone pickups

SINGAPORE - For the first time, M1 customers were able to pre-order their preferred iPhone model and choose a pickup location or to have their handset delivered to them.

Apple's latest smartphones, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released in Singapore today.

M1 said in a statement that it is the first operator here to introduce "a comprehensive iPhone pre-order and collection system" which saw shorter waiting times.

The telco also said that it was able to deliver more iPhones to customers on the first day of sales as compared to previous launches.

Daniel Wu, 31, who was the first in line at M1's Paragon outlet with his wife, also agreed that the waiting time was much shorter.

But M1's chief marketing officer P. Subramaniam revealed that there were some customers who said they did not have a positive pre-order experience.

In view of this feedback, he said that M1 is reviewing the process to enhance it for future handset launches.
