SINGAPORE - You can now toggle between two different mobile numbers on a single SIM and phone with Starhub's ‘2-in-1 LINE’ app.
The local telco operator announced on Wednesday that the app allows its post-paid customers to initiate calls or SMS using their secondary mobile number, which will be displayed on the recipient’s caller ID.
Besides calls and messages, the app allows users to manage a separate mobile address book, call/text logs, and call filtering/blocking options.
The primary line associated with the SIM card will remain active for data access, as well as receiving calls and SMS.
Mr Chan Kin Hung, StarHub's Senior Vice President of Mobility, said that the voice quality will be maintained, according to the phone's specifications.
"Our customers can utilise two different mobile numbers on the same smartphone, enjoying convenience and clear 4G HD Voice experience,” Mr Chan said.
Users can start using the service immediately by downloading the 2-in-1 LINE app from Apple App Store or Google Play and log in with their Hub iD to choose their secondary number.
The service will cost $5.35 monthly, but users who sign up before Dec 31 will have free access and unlimited local SMS over the 2-in-1 LINE app for three months.
All other usage, such as outgoing calls and global/roaming SMS, will be deducted from the customer’s primary mobile plan bundle.
