PRISM+ drops a slew of new ultrawide, curved gaming monitors

PRISM+ has launched a handful of brand new monitors ahead of the COMEX 2019 show at Suntec. The X340 Pro, X315 Pro, and X315 MAX are all curved screens with a 1500R curvature and sleek, all-black frames, which means they'll look even better on your desk.

The new designs do look a lot more attractive, and the minimalist aesthetic is complemented by a subtle blue backlight on the back of the monitor.

The 31.5-inch X315 MAX sits at the top of the pack with a crisp 3,840 x 2,160-pixel VA panel, a 3,000:1 contrast ratio, and support for HDR10. It also has a 60Hz refresh rate, which may be why PRISM+ is billing this as a companion monitor for 4K gaming on consoles.

It offers up to 120 per cent coverage of the sRGB colour space and support for AMD FreeSync. The Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and all PS4 models support HDR10, so the X315 MAX will be able to take advantage of the growing list of titles that support HDR.

Separately, HDCP 2.2 is also supported for protected 4K content.

The monitor is equipped with super slim bezels as well, and the 1500R curvature supposedly follows the natural curve of the human field of vision better.

Then there are the X340 Pro and X315 Pro, which offer more modest resolutions but higher refresh rates. The X340 Pro is an ultrawide 34-inch display with a sprawling 21:9 aspect ratio and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. In addition, its 3,440 x 1,440-pixel VA panel supports 120 per cent coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and a 100Hz refresh rate.

The smaller X315 Pro will go up to 144Hz on its QHD VA panel. It also covers up to 125 per cent of the sRGB colour space, marginally better than the X340 Pro and X315 MAX.

All the screens come with low blue light and flicker-free technologies as well, the same as most other monitors on the market. PRISM+ also highlighted its use of Grade A+ panels from Samsung, which technically have fewer imperfections than lower grade screens.

Here's an overview of their launch prices:

  • X315 MAX - S$549 (U.P. S$1,199)
  • X340 Pro - S$689 (U.P. S$1,499)
  • X315 Pro - S$529 (U.P. S$999)

PRISM+ says there will be further discounts to be enjoyed at COMEX 2019, so you can head down to check them out. Alternatively, they're already available for pre-order on the company's website.
