Production issues could force Apple to launch the iWatch next year

Just last month, we reported that Apple's eagerly anticipated iWatch could be delayed until November. Unfortunately, the latest rumours now suggest that continued production issues could possibly force Apple to delay the launch of its smart watch until next year.

This comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, the same analyst who had earlier said that the iWatch would be delayed until November. In his report, he stated that Apple is facing "a much higher level of difficulty" and cited problems with components, system design, manufacturing processes and an integration of hardware and software.

This is the original note from Kuo:

"We reiterate our view that iWatch, as compared to existing products, and as Apple's (US) first attempt at a wearable device, represents a much higher level of difficulty for the company as regards component and system design, manufacturing and integration between hardware and software. While we are positive on iWatch and believe that the advantages of the design and business model behind it are difficult to copy, we think, given the aforementioned challenges, that the launch could be postponed to 2015."

Whatever the case may be, it seems safe to say that no one really has a clue as to the possible launch date of the iWatch. However, one thing worth pondering about is that compared to the upcoming iPhone 6, we have seen little to no leaks with regards to the iWatch's design. Already, we have seen prototype leaks of the iPhone 6 in April and just days ago we also saw what could be the retail box of the iPhone 6. Some food for thought there.
