StarHub bundles 500Mbps fibre plan with free 100Mbps cable broadband

SINGAPORE - StarHub is throwing in a free cable broadband subscription for those who buy its 500Mbps fibre plan, in a bid to address Wi-Fi slowdowns within the home.

Singapore, 29 May 2014 - Leveraging its unrivalled ability to deliver high-speed broadband services over both fibre and cable networks, StarHub today unveiled quite possibly the world's first home broadband solution that maximises wireless broadband coverage and speeds for customers.

"Consistent wireless broadband connectivity throughout the home is essential for customers, who increasingly rely on Internet-enabled smart devices, including laptops, smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and other connected appliances," said Ms Lin Shu Fen, Head of Entertainment & SmartLife, StarHub. "With the launch of our innovative dual-network home broadband solution, we are pleased to offer customers an unmatched wireless broadband experience while surfing, utilising cloud services, social networking, streaming HD quality content such as StarHub TV Anywhere and more, anywhere in their home."

StarHub's 500Mbps fibre home broadband plan at $69.90/month will come with a 100Mbps cable home broadband subscription free-of-charge and two complimentary premium wireless networking devices, including the all-new D-Link DIR-868L Wireless AC dual-band gigabit router. Customers can enjoy greater broadband connectivity assurance as StarHub's established and ubiquitous cable broadband network serves as an alternative access to the fibre broadband service.

Fees for service activation and installation are waived. During service installation, a qualified 'StarHub Hub Trooper' digital expert will provide home networking advice according to the customer's Internet surfing requirements. This includes placing fibre and cable equipment to optimise in-home wireless broadband coverage and to enhance wireless surfing experience.
