SINGAPORE - StarHub customers can now make mobile payments with Apple Pay, the telco announced on Tuesday (April 19).
Apple Pay serves as a platform for mobile transactions and users may register their credit or debit cards with the app. However, actual card numbers will not be stored on the device or Apple servers.
Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted and securely stored in the Secure Element on the device. Each transaction is authorised with a one-time unique dynamic security code, StarHub added.
Apple Pay is compatible with iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Apple Watch, iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4 and iPad Pro.
