Taiwan celeb Jimmy Lin spotted with unreleased iPhone 7 Plus

With less than a month away before the launch of the new iPhones, Taiwanese celebrity Jimmy Lin has been photographed using the iPhone 7 Plus.

This isn't the first time the star has been seen using leaked iPhones, as Lin was seen using the iPhone 5 in 2012, and the iPhone 6 and 6 plus in 2014, informs Hardwarezone.

How legit is his photo though? According to reports and Apple's release trends, the tech giant is set to release the iPhone 7 series in September this year.

What's new in the iPhone 7 series?

The new iPhone series is said to come with the new iOS 10 already installed.

Furthermore, the smartphone will not come with a headphone jack, with the reason being that it takes up space in the phone physically. The USB audio jack - rumoured to be integrated into the new phone, doesn't take up as much space and allows features such as noise cancellation.

Express explains that with the new USB jack, it can control how much power it sends from the phone to the headphones.

"That means a battery-saving mode on the smartphone could disable power to the microphone on your headphones to help eke out a few more minutes battery life. It can also be used to charge headphones while they are in use".

The new iPhone 7 Plus will also be equipped with a dual camera lens. Each lens will capture the colours of a picture differently, and combine to produce an optimum image, thus resulting in higher quality photographs.

According to TIME, the new series might even come with a storage capacity of 32GB, instead of the usual measly 16GB at entry level.

"Apple may finally bump up the entry level iPhone's storage capacity from 16GB to 32GB", according to The Wall Street Journal. "Most Android phones come with 32GB of space by default, but Apple has maintained that 16GB is sufficient for those who use the cloud for most computing tasks," they said.

TIME explains that even with the use of the iCloud storage for documents, photos and videos, it's still not enough for users as the iPhone's operating system already takes up much of the given storage space.

Despite pictures showing Lin using the leaked phone, there is no supporting evidence that the device is up for tests. For all we know, it might be a publicity stunt and Lin is in fact using a dummy.
