Wanted: Your ideas on good internet use

If you have ideas on how to improve cyber wellness education, the Government is calling on you to share them.

The Inter-Ministry Cyber Wellness Steering Committee is looking for suggestions that can encourage the positive use of the Internet and mobile technologies among young people.

These suggestions could be in areas such as protection against cybercrime, balancing online and offline activities, and information literacy, among others.

For instance, the Government is looking for ideas on how parents can guide their children on safe and responsible use of information and communication technology.

"It is essential that parents act as role models for their children, build a positive parent-child relationship and understand their children's online activities," the Ministry of Communications and Information and the Ministry of Education said in a joint statement yesterday.

This call for proposals is the committee's sixth since 2009.

The closing date for submissions is at 4pm on Jan 23, 2015.
