Yet another rumour of a 4-inch Apple iPhone for 2015 surfaces

Despite the huge success of the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 models, Apple is rumored again to be releasing a 4-inch model later this year.

According to DigiTimes, industry sources claim that Apple will unveil three different iPhone models in the second half of 2015 which are the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and the 4-inch model (also known as the iPhone 6C).

In addition, the iPhone 6S Plus and 6C will sport displays made from Japan Display, Sharp and LG Display while the 6S will have display panels from Japan Display and LG. All three models reportedly have NFC, Touch ID and Corning Gorilla Glass.

This isn't the first time that such rumours surfaced; analyst Timothy Arcuri of Cowen and Company reported in December 2014 that an "iPhone 6S mini" will be released this year and may sport a new design with curved screen edges.

With some people missing the more compact 4-inch form factor, it probably makes sense for Apple to produce a new 4-inch model to cater to this market segment. Time will tell if this turns out to be true.
