The Hong Kong star's fans recently had to do a double-take while watching him in a Chinese live-stream video.

In it, the 53-year-old was sporting unusually large peepers and a super sharp chin.

No, he didn't get work done on his face -- the mobile phone's beauty filter was to blame.

If anything, Weibo users were amused by images of the 'alien-looking' star, with one writing, "I'm dying from laughter, please let him off!"

While beauty filters help influencers and regular folks look better on social media, it appears to do just the opposite for celebrities like Aaron.

This sentiment was echoed by some of his fans on Weibo, saying, "It's not that the filter doesn't suit him, he doesn't need it in the first place."

Another fan dug up the star's old photos to remind others that Aaron's been good-looking since he entered showbiz - gasp - 34 years ago.

Well, his wife Moka Fang's not spared from beauty filter either, remember the time when we couldn't tell her apart from her friends?
