AsiaOne on air: Live bands, anniversary parties and club nights are what to check out this weekend

Taking you from live gigs to high-end clubs, our Party girl dishes out recommendations for this weekend.

Kick off Friday night with a gig at a new space next to the Esplanade called the Annexe Studio. Remember the old DXO - that's the new spot.

Local instrumental rock band, In Each Hand a Cutlass, will be performing at 11pm, and they are awesomesauce.

Door entry is $15 with one drink.

This is also the start of their rock stardom tour as they will be heading to Australia to perform at Brisbane's Bigsound festival, among other cities, and then to China for the Concrete and Grass Festival in Shanghai, also among other cities.

I think it's all very exciting because they will also be in the same festival as Edison Chen (I quite like him, I don't know why)!

Also on Friday, music and events group Revision Music is having their first anniversary at Blu Jaz on Bali Lane.

For $5 entry, you will get a night of excellent jungle, drum & bass and hip hop music.

Also celebrating their anniversary is Molly Malone's at Circular Road that will be the ripe old age of 21 (especially in bar years).

There will be drinks deals all night with live music from cover bands.

Then, on Saturday, the Matteblacc DJs are having a R&B and hip hop party at Meatliquor Sin on Duxton Road.

They gave four reasons why you shouldn't miss the first instalment of their night called Peachfuzz.

For one, the venue is known for its mouth-watering burgers, so have a pre-game meal there. Secondly, bottle prices are cheap, starting from $130. Third, the crowd will be pumping, and the music will bring you to your happy place.

All sounds good to me!

But if you want something more chi-chi where you have to 'dress to impress', new kid on the block Baliza on Raffles Boulevard is having a Don Pablo night.

Best dressed wins a bottle of Dom Perignon champagne.

Party packages start at $528 for two Belvedere bottles, and go up to $4,888 for a train of 10 Doms.

If you don't know, now you know.
