The Dungeons & Dragons movie by Paramount Pictures and Hasbro is slowly coming together, with co-directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley still hard at work on the script while working from home.

As it turns out, the live-action adaptation of the popular tabletop role-playing game may yet get its first cast member in Chris Pine. According to Variety, the Wonder Woman 1984 and Star Trek actor is reportedly in discussions to star in the movie, and a formal agreement has yet to be made.

Paramount and Hasbro are co-producing and financing the Dungeons & Dragons film. Hasbro and recently-acquired Canadian distribution company eOne will be handling the movie’s distribution in the UK and Canada, while Paramount will be handling distribution for the rest of the world.

The D&D movie is slated to release on May 27, 2022.

Meanwhile, Hasbro has recently announced the existence of a Dungeons & Dragons live-action TV series also in the early stages of development.
