Keanu Reeves wants to sing in Cyberpunk 2077

Keanu Reeves wants to sing in Cyberpunk 2077 - but CD Projekt Red won't let him.

The John Wick actor is starring in the highly anticipated game as Johnny Silverhand, and while the alter ego used to be in a band called Samurai, the developer has decided to take a different route.

He told IGN: "No, they don't want me to sing."

Although Reeves is keen to belt out some tunes for the upcoming game, the company has apparently recruited an unnamed rock group to play the music.

However, he's still hopeful he'll get to have some influence over the soundtrack.

He added: "We have a bit of time, so maybe we'll see what happens. Maybe the lead singer of the band will let me have some kind of influence in there. We'll see."

Meanwhile, senior level designer Miles Tost has insisted CD Projekt Red is focused on current generation hardware, although it will also be considering next-gen consoles.

He told GamerHubTV: "Of course we are looking at what is happening in the games industry because we are part of it, and we need to always look forward.

"But at the same time, we are a studio that really focuses on the work we're doing now. So our full attention is on current-gen consoles and PC. Who knows? When the time comes for it, maybe [we'll support next-gen consoles].

"But until [Cyberpunk 2077 launches in April 2020], we have a thing to do. And as far as what I have heard, the next-gen consoles ... Xbox just announced holiday 2020. So it's not really a concern for us now because it comes way after where we want to release our game."
