Taiwanese actor Yao Yuan Hao escaped with what appears to be light injuries after crashing his car while competing in the Ningbo leg of the China GT Championship.

The BMW he was driving hit the wall when he tried to avoid a Mercedes-Benz that had skidded with two laps to go last Friday (May 3).

The 37-year-old said after the accident, "When the car was skidding it felt like time slowed down.

"When it was spinning, there was nothing I could do because the car had no grip.

"I could only watch as it hit the wall and everything stopped."

According to Apple Daily, Yuan Hao lost consciousness for a short while and did not emerge from the car immediately.

One photographer of his even worried to tears, according to a Facebook post he wrote today (May 7).

Luckily, race doctors did not find anything serious apart from a slight concussion, with Yuan Hao reporting only some pain in his torso and giddiness.

"I'm still giddy now," he told Apple Daily in Taiwan, but revealed that he has not seen another doctor.

In a separate interview, the star of Rookies' Diary and Big Red Riding Hood called the crash "an experience hard to come by" and hopes his driving can improve as a result.

His Facebook post expresses his gratitude towards the concern from his team and the technicians who repaired the wrecked car overnight.

Yuan Hao finished 11th for FIST-Team AAI in the GT4 class and will be competing in Shanghai next.

Apart from being an actor and a sports enthusiast, Yuan Hao is perhaps equally known for dating supermodel Sonia Sui and sweet-faced singer-actress Cyndi Wang.
