A make-up artist with Hong Kong broadcasting company TVB has tested positive for Covid-19.

The woman has been onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship currently quarantined at the Daikoku Pier Cruise Terminal in Yokohama, Japan.

"[The makeup artist] told the company that she was confirmed (infected with the coronavirus) on [Feb 20], and is receiving treatment in Japan. She has been on vacation since Jan 25," a spokesperson from TVB said.

Despite having worked closely with the woman prior to her holiday, Hong Kong actress Koni Lui told reporters she is not worried for her health as the make-up artist had not returned to work since going on leave.

A total of 691 people aboard the Diamond Princess cruise have been infected at the time of writing, four of whom have died. The number of cases in Hong Kong has also soared to 84 with two dead.

TVB has disinfected the make-up room upon receiving confirmation of her infection.

This is the third health scare in February for the broadcasting company.

Earlier this month, a part-time actor was spotted throwing up in the studio grounds in Tseung Kwan O. It was later confirmed that he had only a stomach ailment and had not travelled abroad.

Soon after, five TVB actors — Owen Cheung, Vincent Wong, Jessica Kan, Kelly Cheung, and Sisley Choi — called in sick on the same day. Their absence resulted in a three-day production shutdown.

The five of them had been involved in the production of Legal Mavericks 2, which involved filming in the mountains from night till 6am the next day, and fatigue was believed to be the cause of their ailment.
